If you need a second magazine its time to call in air support.

They're probably secretaries and the like but, it's just another example of our government being TOO BIG.
Don't talk about what you have done (or what you
are going to do). Do it and let it speak for itself.

Contractors, park rangers, irs agents, office drones, archival staff, congressional aides/staff, Federal agencies staff....
I mean really, how big are the Federal Agencies overall?
You have
IRS
EPA
DOE
DOT
Dept of Interior( manages National parks and National Monuments)
Dept of Agriculture (who also manages National Forests)
SSA
Library of Congress
National Archives (which also have regional Archive branches)
DEA
FDA
FCC
Dept of the Navy (also USMC)
War Dept
Dept of the Army
Dept of the Air Force
Armed Forces
Coast Guard

The US Postal Office receives independent funding, so it is exempt
For all these "essential" Govt Agencies, you have their "non essential employees".. honestly 800,000 isn't a bad number out of 300 million citizens.

If they are non essential, why are they required there to do a job.  The govt should only have those people working for it (like any business) that are needed to get the job done.

No need to have people around just to make things easier or faster.  If not required, not needed, save the $$ and reduce govt size.

Politics. Its easier to justify bigger budgets and claim "govt job growth" as a positive ::)

There has to be a happy medium between super-lean organization and blatant bloat. Having more than one open window at the DMV would be nice. (I know DMV is a state rather than federal agency, but you get my point.)
