Set Your Sights...
« on: 28 Feb 2016 - 10:47:07 »
I have a mishmash of rifles and scopes/red dot configurations.  I want to get a couple of identical scopes to mount on tw0 (2) .308 rifles, the same for a 300 Blackout and perhaps a fourth for a .338 Lapua Magnum (I have a scope on there now that has rang a 12" steel at 1,000 yards

http://konuspro.com/en/site/product_description/10x_40x52mm

but I would like the same scope on all long distance -500 to 1000+ yard shooters.)

I am now leaning towards first focal plane.  I like Mil/mil (but can live with MOA).  I want to be able to see what I am shooting at (with a good probability of hitting it.)  Most all shooting will be bench rest long distance.

I have read the reviews on these scopes and I think I would be happy with any of them.

What say you!

What I ideally want is a Vortex Viper PST with EBR-2C reticle, but I'll have to wait for the Lottery to get four (or more) of them.

Those are all nice but, way out of my price range for a scope.
The only rifle I currently have a scope on, is my Savage A17 and it's a BSA 6-24x40 mil dot. I realize it may a bit of "overkill" for that particular caliber but, I got it for a steal.
I was browsing through the scope selection on sportsmansguide.com one day and found it marked down from $149 to $49 and it just so happened to be one of their "free shipping" weekends. I double checked the price on BSA's website and sure enough...........$149. I originally had it on my Mossberg 817 bolt action and could consistently shoot groups or 2" or less at 100 yards. I can't wait to try it out on the new semi.
Don't talk about what you have done (or what you
are going to do). Do it and let it speak for itself.
